Today, we are exploring the famous Ancient Durga Temple of Ramnagar, Varanasi. This historic temple is located behind the PAC Headquarters in Ramnagar Varanasi Uttar Pradesh and is considered one of the oldest and most important temples dedicated to Goddess Durga in the region.

According to local belief, the temple was originally dedicated to Lord Vishnu.
However, due to certain unusual and unexplained events that reportedly occurred within the temple premises, the royal priests advised the rulers to dedicate the temple to Goddess Durga instead.
Following their guidance, the temple was transformed into a Durga shrine and has remained so ever since.
